The Fluidity of Wisdom in a Changing World

Like water, our understanding must be able to adapt to new shapes without losing its essential nature.

STILLNESS PRACTICE

Rigidity is the enemy of growth. When we cling too tightly to specific ideas of how our lives should look or how our spiritual practice must progress, we become brittle and easily broken by the unexpected. Wisdom is like water; it is soft enough to adapt to any container it is poured into, yet powerful enough to carve through solid rock over time.

The Art of Non-Resistance

Non-resistance does not mean being weak or lacking a spine. It means having the intelligence to flow around obstacles rather than bashing your head against them. In your daily life, this looks like accepting people as they are and situations as they arise, and then acting skillfully from that place of acceptance rather than from a place of resentment or denial.

Staying Connected to the Source

Even as water changes form—from ice to liquid to steam—its chemical essence remains the same. Similarly, your external circumstances may fluctuate wildly, but your internal connection to the source of wisdom should remain constant. By cultivating a deep, fluid awareness, you ensure that you can move through the world with grace, no matter how rugged the terrain becomes.
